Re: the 14-day self-isolation for student accommodation

Saturday 26-09-2020 - 14:13

The University recently released a statement to confirm that a 14-day self-isolation period has been put in place for student accommodation at Birley and Cambridge Halls.

We recognise that this is a worrying and challenging time. The Union is here to support you and we’re working closely with the University to make sure that you have everything you need during the next two weeks.

What questions, concerns or feelings do you have about the new measures? Let us know what’s on your mind so that we can make sure that you get the help you need.

We’ve already raised a number of issues for the University to work on, including making sure you get the food you need; that your dietary requirements can be met; support around potential loss of income from part time jobs; maintaining access to materials and resources for university; minimising loss of practical time on campus; getting you access to medication, any supplies you need and wellbeing support.

We also encourage you to use the communication channels included in the University email and to reach out for any help you need. We will be supporting the University to make sure you get it.
