Last night, candidates for the positions of Vice President Cheshire were quizzed by students at the last Q&A session before voting opened this morning.

Students gathered in Frances Wood on the Crewe campus to watch the candidates answer pre-submitted questions and others from audience members and social media.

The candidates for the position of Vice President included Andy Young (MMU4U) and Mark ‘MITZEE’ Powell (Fresh 4 MMU).  As with the other sessions, each candidate was allotted sixty seconds to introduce themselves, and tell students what their priorities were if elected.

With the closure of the Crewe campus playing a large part in the line of questioning, the candidates were asked by the audience how, if elected, they would continue to champion student-led events and how they would bring audiences to the performances arts students put on as part of their course.

Pre-submitted questions asked “how do you plan to maintain the close-knit community feel at the Crewe campus?” and “how do you plan to work with the new Officer roles to make sure Sports and Societies are supported in Crewe?”.

Hussain El-Amin, current President asked, “being the only officer in Crewe the next academic year, what do you envision to be the biggest challenge?”.
