We're currently running a competition to win a £250 Food Shop voucher, read to the end to find out how you can enter. 

You can tell a lot about a student from what’s in their shopping basket – where do you fit in?

Art Student

Your basket is full of paint brushes of every size and fabric paints to upcycle your flatmates jeans. Are they blank tote bags? Your eyes light up at all the illustrations you can match your mask with. 

Vegan Student

You’ve been wanting to go vegan for ages, or have never even sniffed a piece of cheese. Your basket is full of vegan snacks which you’re ready to devour whilst listening to your favourite podcast. People think vegans eat really healthy, but tell that to your three sandwiches and giant bag of quinoa crisps.

Cold Student

You either have bad circulation or you’re from the south where everything is two degrees warmer. You’ve bought a Manchester Met hoodie in two sizes too big so it can be super cosy, as well as the MMU Sport bobble hat for the inevitable rain and snow. Plus, you’ve got a reusable coffee cup because it’s good for the planet but mainly because it keeps your hands warm. 

Hungry Student

You do your weekly shop in The Union because it's convenient and it saves you walking 30 minutes to the supermarket. You’ve got everything from your milk to your ready meals to your oven chips. Oh, and don’t forget your Old El Paso Fajita kit for tonight. 

Organised Student

Your lecture notes should be framed and hung in the Tate. You’ve got highlighters dedicated for each module, with the pastel ones used for your own journaling needs. You also have a notebook problem: you may not have filled your last three notepads but the moleskin ones are so beautiful… oh and don’t forget your rainbow fine liners for all your underlining of important points.
