The Ahlulbayt society aims to propagate the light of Islam, the Holy Qur'an, the Prophet of Islam and His Progeny (Peace be upon them). Our name is derived from the ‘Ahlulbayt’, who are the beloved family of the Holy Prophet of Islam Muhammad (Peace be upon him and his holy household). Our aims are to unite individuals, irrespective of social or ethnic backgrounds. Through this, we encourage justice and peace. In addition, we aim to create a platform for interfaith dialogue and bringing about unity regardless of faith, race or background.

“A person is either your brother in faith, or your equal in humanity” - Imam Ali (peace be upon him)

In light of this, the Ahlulbayt society strives to use the University platform to create dialogue, discussion and free exchange of ideas. Through this, we endeavour to facilitate the understanding of Islam and its philosophy, and show how this encompasses every aspect of our lives, including politics, economics and spirituality. Our events range from talks by expert speakers, informal discussion circles, social gatherings and sporting events.

We hope you will join us and be part of the community.
