Information for staff

Help us find Manchester Metropolitan's future student leaders.

We're searching for six student officers to lead The Union in 2018/19. We'd like your help to get the word out to as many students as possible.

Here you’ll find information designed specifically for staff working across the Manchester Metropolitan community.

What is a student officer?

Officers are elected to represent the needs and views of Manchester Met students. There are six positions and they work full time for one year.

How are they elected?

Manchester Met students vote for their preferred candidate online in March.

Who can take part?

All students who are currently studying at Manchester Met can stand as a candidate and vote.

Six great reasons to stand

  • Be the voice of 36,000 students.
  • Lead a charity dedicated to helping students get the most out of university.
  • Use your enthusiasm and ideas to make a difference to the lives of students.
  • Work with the university to create real change.
  • Meet new people, have fun and build your confidence.
  • Represent students to the university, local community and nationally.
  • Stand out to future employers and enhance your CV
  • Get paid over £17,000 per year

How can I help?
