If you often find yourself getting the bus around Manchester, make the most of your student status by getting a student bus ticket (if you haven’t already). If you use Stagecoach, First Bus or Go North West buses, head to the Finance office on the first floor of The Union, where you can pick up annual, termly, monthly or weekly tickets — depending on which service you use.

The Go North West tickets are app-based — which is really handy if you’re prone to losing your ticket, not so handy if you’re also prone to losing your phone.

A valid student photo ID card must be shown when buying a student bus ticket and it’s a good idea to keep it on you when travelling, as it might be requested by the driver too. You can also use your Met card to buy your own bus tickets from The Union, but you can’t buy them for anyone else.
