- Location: Village Green, SODA
- Date: Wednesday 14 August, 2024
- Time: 12:00 - 12:50
- Presenter(s): Colina Wright, Nicola Mitchell, Heriot-Watt SU
Heriot-Watt University is one of the most internationally diversified universities in the UK. Whilst several universities offer global learning opportunities, they don’t do it like us… This session explores the "one Heriot-Watt" approach; we do not have a home campus and branch campuses; we are one, single institution with 5 campuses in 3 geographical locations.
The University prides itself on the "global priorities" presented collectively by the three separate Student Representative Bodies (SRBs) as opposed to our campus-based manifestos / campaigns.
During the session we will:
* Explore what a truly global experience means for our representative bodies and our students
* Reflect on how activities on our individual campuses contribute to a much wider community
* Collectively discuss how we move from “manifestos” to global values / priorities, ensuring University buy in
* Discuss our draft globally aligned calendar of events with suggestions for improvements
* Consider how we report to our respective governance, individually and collectively
