Session description

The session hopes to inspire Advice Services to take bold and creative approaches in tackling the issue of rising academic misconduct cases. Led by myself our Advice Team has created an Academic Misconduct Campaign group which has raised awareness at various points in the year to deter students from academic misconduct and get the right academic support.

This isn't simply the usual workshops and email guidance students find boring and do not read...the session will outline successful interventions such as the process and impact of a fake Essay Mill Service in a response to contract cheating. There will also be an opportunity for attendees to creatively think how they can incorporate the important message of academic integrity in other SU activity within their institutions that advisers don't usually get involved with - think Valentines Day, festivals and student led debates.

It will also touch on how Advice services can successfully build relationships with key University staff (like we have) in order to work together in achieving the same goal of reduced academic misconduct.
