Hear from two unions about how their comms and marketing teams work with other departments in the organisation.
When Brookes moved web system they took this as an opportunity to reset how we worked with other teams. They spent some time working up guidelines on how to work with them, set some expectations and boundaries. They then did some training on everyone on how we could all work together. At the same time they redesigned their project planning process to include a comms plan section that stopped/greenlit a project. They also launched our comms strategy at the same time, which we use as a clear reason for why they say yes or no to certain requests.
Salford have been working towards one SU voice and having synergy across their brand. They'll discuss how their rebrand and strategy review has achieved collaboration successes and streamlined their content to tell the students' journey throughout the year with their SU.
