Need extra support over the assessment period? Don't worry, we've got you covered.
The Union MMU have shared the world’s deep sadness and revulsion at the violent aggression the people of Ukraine have experienced over the last nine days. We hope for a peaceful resolution as soon as possible.
Last week we were in contact with the University, who shared with us their plans to reach out to students from the area who have been directly affected. We understand a significant number of students have been identified and offers of support have been made. However, many people may have links to the area that are not obvious in the records system. We encourage anyone concerned for relatives or friends, or those who are affected by the violence in Ukraine or surrounding area to contact the Union’s Advice Centre who can support students with applications for academic support or make referrals to other services within the University or the wider community. You can also contact student services directly.
This week we will continue to work with the University to offer ways to support our students. Today (Friday 4 March 2022) the University are offering the opportunity for Ukrainian students to meet, connect and offer mutual support to each other. Some food and refreshments will be provided at the Business School between 12:00-13:30, Room 1.23, North Atrium.
The Manchester community will show its public support for the people of Ukraine this weekend, by gathering at Piccadilly Gardens at 5pm Saturday 5th March.
