MMEGS (Manchester Met’s Environment and Geography society) welcomes anyone with an interest in the environment and geography to join their society. Previously they’ve held a pub quiz to meet new members as well as a livestream of an online talk by The Royal Academy, ‘You and the Planet’. MMU Wildlife Society is ready for new members! They welcome any student at Manchester Met who is either studying Wildlife Biology or simply has an interest in local wildlife. They will be running activities throughout the year including regular socials, gardening activities, and nature walks. Email the society for more information.
MMU Zoology is looking for new members to join in their new events which are planned to happen every Thursday online (for now) at 6pm. The society is open for anyone who is currently studying Zoology or who has a passion for animals. Online events will consist of animal quiz nights, animal documentary or film nights, ‘show your pets’ online socials, educational talks from animal industry professionals, and virtual zoo trips! Film Making Open Call - Open now (28/01) until 18/03 Ghost Bots MMU are taking entries for their Open Call screening. This is not limited to Manchester School of Art students and welcomes submissions from all backgrounds. Please contact the team if you wish to submit work for consideration. Selected films will be shown on 25th March.
Plaque Prize Open Call - Open 03/02 to 03/03 The Plaque Prize is an annual open call for Manchester School of Art students to propose a work which is designed to fit in the now-vacant frame and this year's winning artwork will be on show for the duration of the year. The prize is a year-long exhibit and £200 Cass Art vouchers.

There’s always a lot going on in the Faculty of Business and Law: - The department of Strategy, Enterprise and Sustainability (SES) hosts a bi-weekly film club, featuring films around the topic of sustainability. If you’re a student within this department and films like Wall-E, Avatar and Snowpiercer pique your interest, then this film club is for you. The department also has more films scheduled to show over March, so students who are from other departments can also get some screen time! - Accounting, Banking and Finance Society are going to be holding ‘Meet the Committee’ online event, and also have a newsletter launching soon.
