What are Course Reps?

Course Reps are students who are chosen to represent everyone on their course. They can raise issues in meetings, share best practice and create positive change at the University.

Course Reps can make changes to lots of things that have an impact on your University experience, including timetables, assessments, facilities, curriculum, deadlines, teaching style and much more.

There’s a dedicated member of staff at The Union who works with reps, as well as Course Rep Support Staff member for each Faculty.

How can I get involved?

Becoming a Course Rep is really easy; your programme leader might ask you to self-elect yourself, you might be voted in by your peers or you might be asked to be a rep by a member of staff. The important thing to do it register as a rep on The Union’s website and tell your programme leader that you’re a rep.

What’s in it for me?

After you’ve registered you can attend the Course Rep conference and various other training sessions put on just for Course Reps.

It’s a great opportunity to improve University life, develop personal skills and have an impressive thing to speak to employers about. You can build a good relationship with staff, meet new people on your course and work alongside the Education Officer.

How can I get in touch with my Course Reps?

You can find out who represents you by asking your programme leader or by emailing s.u.reps@mmu.ac.uk

Find out more and register online by Thursday 12 October
