Found at the heart of campus next to The Union building, The Sal is the place to go for classic British pub grub. They’ve got student discounts and plenty of veggie options, so get the whole group down there after a day of lectures. There’s even a beer garden out the back to enjoy on Manchester’s rare sunny days.

If chicken wings are your thing, then Bunny Jackson’s on First Street is the place to be. With chicken (or cauliflower) wings as cheap as 25p, its perfect for a budget friendly bite. And if you’re feeling brave, why not have a go at their ‘Hotter than the sun’ challenge.

Take a wander around the Nothern Quarter and you might stumble across this hidden gem. For tacos and bao buns on a budget, it doesn’t get better than this, with prices starting at just ÂŁ1. They’ve got vegan and veggie options too, so everyone can eat something they’ll love.
