Six prayer mats are now available for use and can be found on the second floor of The Union, in the cupboards outside of the Advice Centre. This has been led by Hanifa, your Education Officer, as a personal venture to improve the experience for Manchester Met students: “I came up with the idea because I had nothing to pray on. I recognised that other students and staff might want it too, so I bought the prayer mats for anyone to use. I also bought beginners books on Muslim prayer for anyone who wants to learn or is new to it.”



There are currently six mats available and students don’t need to book them — please ensure you return the mat after use so that they are always available for others.

Hanifa hopes to increase the number of prayer mats available over the course of the year and we welcome any feedback about this project or any other ways that you feel we can improve your experience at University.
