Second Anniversary of the Manchester Arena Bombing

Wednesday 22-05-2019 - 09:00

Today marks the 2nd year anniversary of the Manchester Arena bombing.

To remember the event that tried to divide us, we want to remind you that as your students’ union, we believe that we are stronger united.

Wellbeing Officer, Andy Harmon, said “What struck me about the response to the attack is that it was unlike any other. It was no surprise that it took no time at all for the people of Manchester to come out and support each other. We have a community of different groups of people with different views, who still look out for each other. That’s the kind of community we want to see in Greater Manchester, the one that we’ve always advocated for.”

This is a difficult day for this city, and we recognise you may be feeling lower than usual. Remember you can speak to someone at the University’s counselling service.

If you want to pay your respects in other ways, we encourage you to do so – you can find further information here.
