From the presenter:
Relaunching the Union elections. We brought the elections into the Comms and Engagement Team rather than sitting within the Voice Team. This allowed us to coordinate them from the centre. We also rebranded and simplified the elections artwork.
We spent time making the elections fun and light-hearted, as they had spread into being boring and felt like a chore for people. We went with a donut theme for voting week - lots of potential for puns and props.
We made the elections a Union-wide, long-term project and spent time with different teams within the Union designing pyramids of engagement, and working out ways to move engaged members along the pyramid. We now see people talking and thinking about the elections all year round.
We saw a huge leap in the number of candidates running for positions, as well as voter turnout.
