The Union is thrilled to say that we've been able to take action on this issue. For the academic year 2018/19, the roles of Activities Manchester and Activties Cheshire have been replaced with the positions of Societes & Development Officer and Sports Officer. These new cross-campus roles will provide dedicated support to students from our sports clubs and societies. In addition, we have also introduced the new role of Wellbeing Officer instead of our previous Community Officer position. These changes have been made possible as a result of the closure of MMU's Cheshire campus in the next couple of years, meaning we will only have one full-time officer in Cheshire for 2018/19 as the campus enters its final year of operation. You can learn more here, or e-mail s.u.voice@mmu.ac.uk.

My idea is that the current role of activities Manchester is too strained.

The AU side of the role can be very time consuming and require a lot of effort for the candidate to undertake.

To me it makes sense since we will be closing Cheshire and become one unified campus to rename one of the Cheshire roles as Societies Officer, thus splitting the activities role to ensure societies are more fairly represented and have a role solely devoted to them.
