Support at university

There’s loads of support on offer at Manchester Met. If you’re feeling stressed, struggling with exams and assignments or want to speak to someone about any other issues affecting your time at university, don’t be afraid to ask for help.

Support with exams and assignments

If you have missed classes or are struggling to keep on top of your work, make sure you keep the University updated. Speak to someone in your department or seek advice from a Student Support Officer.

Missing exams can feel like a huge burden but the Advice Centre can support you to complete an Exceptional Factors form and talk you through the procedure. Find out more about the support they can offer.

If you’re struggling with your mental health, the Advice Centre can offer various types of support and have a useful links section online directing you to other off-campus services in Manchester and Crewe - find out more.

Workshops and counselling at Manchester Met

For some people, structured workshops and courses work well, and the University run various events throughout the year alongside an on-campus Counselling Service who you can drop in with or book a formal 45 minute session with. After the initial appointment, they will look at the best way forward for you. This could be individual counselling, group therapy, a course or workshop, or self-help materials, looking together at which will best meet your current needs.
