Voting for the next Student Officers - what’s in it for you?

 

From Monday 2 until Thursday 5 March, you’ll be able to vote for which students you think should lead The Union for the next academic year. Think General Election, but you’re having your say on who could make amazing changes to your student experience.

This year, The Union will also be giving out prizes when certain milestones of voters are hit. So, more voters = more prizes.

From free toast in The Union throughout the whole of voting week, to a £250 STA travel voucher, there’s loads of goodies to get your hands on. And all you have to do is vote for next year’s Student Officers.

 

Here’s a breakdown of what’s on offer:

 

500 votes: free toast
Available in The Union for everyone who voted on Monday 2 and Tuesday 3 March. 

1000 votes: free gym passes
Come to The Union and grab a free gym pass for Sugden. The first four students get a month’s free gym membership, the next 50 students get a day pass. It’s first come, first served, so get here quickly to avoid disappointment. Gym passes will be valid from Friday 6 March until Friday 3 April 2020. 

1500 votes: 25% off Starbucks
Grabbing a hot drink in The Union? Cast your vote and get your hands on a 25% off voucher from our stall in Reception.

2000 votes: free reusable coffee cup
We’ve got 250 reusable coffee cups to give away for free in The Union. Do your bit for the student voice and the planet.

2500 votes: free pizza
If we reach 2500 votes, Domino’s will come to The Union on Thursday 5 March and give away free pizza to students who have voted.

3000 votes: Headlock Vintage vouchers
20 lucky students will get a £10 voucher for the Headlock Vintage sale at The Union on 16 March 2020. Just come to the stall in The Union reception to get one, but be quick, they’ll be gone before you know it. 

3500 votes: Vue cinema tickets
Love going to the cinema? We’ve got you covered. Hit 3500 votes and we’ll give away five £10 Vue cinema vouchers. We’ll pick the five lucky students at random, so keep and eye on your inbox to see if you’ve won!

4000 votes: Alton Towers tickets
You and a friend could be heading to Alton Towers for free! We’ve got three pairs of tickets to give away — everyone who votes will be in the running to win them. Watch your email to find out if you’ve won!

4500 votes: inflatable bungee run
Reach 4500 votes and we’ll turn the main hall in The Union into a giant bungee run!

5000 votes: doggy day at The Union
What’s better than a dog? Lots of dogs! Hit 5000 votes and we’ll bring greyhounds into The Union for a day of cuddles.

5500 votes: Instax Mini camera
The first student to come to our stall in The Union once we hit 5500 votes will take home a brand new Instax Mini.

6000 votes: £250 STA travel voucher
This should help your summer trip dreams come true! Every student who votes will be put into this prize draw and one winner will be selected — get voting now to be in with a chance.
