Welcome 2025: What can I expect?
It’s that time of year again where Welcome planning is in full swing, and The Union are close to bringing you an incredible programme of events to welcome you (or welcome you back) to Manchester Met.
You might’ve noticed something slightly different this year though, The Union have partnered with Manchester-based event company Cool It to bring you more evens than ever before.
What’s the difference?
The Union are working with Cool It this year to bring a more inclusive Welcome / Freshers experience to every one of you.
Whilst The Union aren’t doing our usual events such as club nights, and more heavy alcohol-led events, we are still bringing you the classics.
Think Bingo, Pub Quizzes, Freshers Fair, Vintage Clothing Sales, IKEA trips and loads more.
The Union’s events this year are designed to be a more inclusive environment where those of you who aren’t into drinking as much as the others can still get involved.
The events are also designed for you to be able to come with your friends or come alone and make friends along the way.
But, for those of you who are excited for the traditional Freshers Week experience – that’s where Cool It come in.
We’ve teamed up with Cool It to bring you LOADS of club nights, across multiple venues all over Manchester.
Think Funkademia, Ark, Joshua Brooks, Gorilla, Revs, Factory and loads more.
Designed for the more traditional Freshers Week goers – this is not to be missed.
And, the only way you can get access to all of these events is by getting your hands on the Official Manchester Met Freshers Week wristband from Cool It.
Cool It’s Freshers events are the only events that you’ll need a wristband for.
The Union’s events do not need a wristband, they’re either individually ticketed (which can be purchased through each event’s page) or they’re completely free.
