Why should I vote in the Student Officer Elections?

Monday 14-03-2022 - 12:30

Voting has now opened for this year’s elections. Every member of The Union (yes, that is all Manchester Met students) can now vote for who they think would be the best Student Officer for the next academic year - but why should you vote?

Update: The winner of the MacBook competition is Lauren Y

+ Make your voice heard – This is your chance to have your say on who leads The Union. It’s up to you to choose the candidates you think are the best fit for the roles.

+ Think of the future – The elected Officer Team will run campaigns to support students at Manchester Met. You’re voting for the change you want to see.

+ Every vote counts – Your vote could be the difference between a candidate winning or losing the election.

If those aren’t enough reasons to vote, we’re also launching a giveaway. All students who vote in the 2022 Student Officer Elections will be automatically entered into a prize draw for the chance to win a MacBook Air.

There’ll also be a chance to win a Nintendo Switch during voting week on The Union’s Instagram. Make sure to follow the page for more details and updates on the election.

Don’t forget – you can also decide who you want to represent you as an NUS Delegate at the upcoming NUS National Conference. All candidates and their manifestos can be found on our website.

Good luck, and happy voting.
