Christian Union

We are a group of Christian students from all denominations (other faiths and non-believers welcome) who meet up to socialise, get to know each other and support one another in our lives at university. We also aim to hold a range of events that are accessible to all, whether you'd call your self a Christian already or have never even thought about Christianity before.

We usually meet up on a Tuesday evening at 7pm in the Students Union and we have talks from speakers all over Manchester. Looking at questions such as; If Jesus loves me why do I suffer? Why is the world the way it is?

Why not come try it out? We would love to meet you!

Had a search through all our societies and can’t find the one you’re looking for? Why not set it up yourself! 

It’s really easy and we’re here to support you throughout.

Setup a new society

Frequently asked questions

Some societies are free to join, whilst others may have a small fee of around £5 to £10 for the whole year.

Your joining fees are then used to cover the running of the society (sometimes there’ll be extra costs if the society offers classes, special events or trips).

Current Manchester Met students are welcome to join our societies all year round.

Freshers Fair is a particularly great opportunity for you to meet and join our societies in person. 

For existing societies, commitee members are chosen by members of the society through an online election. Elections take place in March ready for the upcoming academic year, and the role of committee member runs from July to June. 

For new societies, the founding members choose their committee to get started.

Fill out this booking form, giving at least one week’s notice to ensure the room is secured. You can request any bookable space in The Union or the University, but first make sure to check the building’s opening hours.

You should definitely wait for confirmation of your booking before spreading the word to your society members.
