Nominations are now open for the 2018 Teaching Awards. You can nominate your lecturers, supervisors and personal tutors for the annual awards ceremony, which is now in its eighth year.

Every year, students share their stories about the individuals and teams who go out of their way to make their learning experience the best it can be – the people they think deserve to be recognised and rewarded.

Nominations are now open until 23:54 on Wednesday 7 March.

Last year The Union received 934 nominations across all faculties, describing staff as “inspiring”, “devoted” and “encouraging”.

There are ten different awards, ranging from Teacher of the Year to Outstanding Teaching for Employability. A panel of students, Student Officers and other representatives judge entries anonymously, and shortlisted candidates will be revealed just before the Easter break.

The highly anticipated awards ceremony will be held at The Union on Thursday 24 May, and this year all students and staff at Manchester Met are invited to the evening to celebrate excellence in teaching.
