From Friday 12 to Sunday 14 October, The Union will host its first Arts Festival, exploring hate crime and inclusivity as two opposing forces.

Manchester has a strong, vibrant and diverse community and its resilience has been tested in the past year. The Union and Manchester Metropolitan University are proud to be part of the city that has responded to violence with love, music and art.

Working in partnership, the festival will explore how to bring people together through art, independent films, exhibitions, discussion panels, performances and much more,

Want to get involved?

You can submit your work – art, film, dance, performance piece, fashion, music, poetry, writing, traditions and heritage all have a place on the programme.

Want to volunteer? Help us create and curate – find out more here.

If you can think of different ways to bring people together with art, we would love to hear your ideas. Get in touch with us.

Keep an eye on our Arts Festival page for news and updates.

We have more in common than we do differences, and that’s what we want to celebrate.
