What is Transgender Awareness Week?

Every year between November 13 – 19, people and organizations around the country take part in Transgender Awareness Week.

The week is to help raise awareness and visibility for transgender people and address issues members of the community face.

It’s also for member of the community and their allies to act, bring attention to, and educate the public on topics within the community.

The topics include prejudice, discrimination, and violence. Attention is brought to this through sharing stories and experiences and letting the public know more about trans lives.
