Space4Autism was set up by parents in 2005. We are a voluntary run charity and we support the whole family by running over 3000 activities per year for all ages living with ASC.
We have a number of volunteering opportunities.
As a charitable organisation, we rely on our volunteers to support our services and enable us to invest more funds to support the health and wellbeing of our members.
Volunteering has a vast range of benefits including learning new skills, which could help you get back into work or enable you to play an active role in the community.
As a Clubs Volunteer, you are working with children and young people with autism at their social clubs. At the social clubs, the children and young people take part in a variety of activities designed to increase the young people's independence and social interaction skills. These include cooking, board games, toys, sensory room, arts and crafts, music activities, chilling out, air hockey, sensory garden, table tennis, pool, team games and trips out.
In this role, you will volunteer alongside the Club staff team and other club volunteers, assist in setting up and clearing away activities, prepare for snack time and clear away afterwards and can help to lead different activities.
It is a fun environment, where you can develop your communication and team work skills.
You can volunteer when you are available. The social clubs happen every Friday evening and every Saturday morning and afternoon. However there is no obligation to volunteer at every session. It is completely up to you how much you volunteer - we are really flexible.
We will match your interests and skills to roles which suit you.
