Help Homeless charities over summer!

Details Hide[-]

Grassroots homeless charities need your help this summer!

Many volunteers leave the city over summer months, meaning local charities struggle to open their services to support vulnerable people.

Love For The Streets works with a number of grassroots homeless charities who make incredible impact within the community, but often suffer during these months. We connect students to the charities who need you most, based on your availabilities and what experience you want!

Please note: these dates are not fixed, they are flexible. Just let us know your availability and we can work around it.

We work with a number of different homeless charities in Manchester - to find out more please click the 'Apply' button

Locations vary but they are all within 1 mile of the city centre - either on Oxford Road, Northern Quarter or near Gay Village.

We are hosting a welcome evening on the 13th June, to find out more information please click the 'Apply' button!

Required Role

Help Homeless charities over summer!

Key responsibilities

Your responsibility is to help frontline charities deliver their full services to beneficiaries. Aside from your role in the kitchen, it's important to remember you are there simply to CHAT WITH PEOPLE. Many people are isolated and love the opportunity to have a chat with a young, enthusiastic volunteer. This can change their outlook on the entire day and give them the confidence to open up with support workers. Characteristically the roles include: - making teas/ coffees - helping the cook in the kitchen - clearing away crockery - giving out clean clothes - chatting
