For this year's Welcome Week, we’ve gone bigger and better with over 30 events lined up to help you settle in, make new friends, and start your university journey on the right foot.

Whether you’re looking to throw yourself into the classic Fresher's experience, meet new people through relaxed social events, or explore everything Manchester has to offer, there’s something for everyone.

The Union X Cool It

This year, The Union have collaborated with Cool It to bring you the ultimate Fresher's Week. These are your traditional Fresher's events with a host of events in multiple venues across Manchester.

To access these events you'll need the Official Fresher's Week Wristband. You can find more info on this here.

Don't worry if club nights aren't your thing thought, you don't need a wristband for The Union's own Welcome events

Our lineup includes:

 

• Freshers Fair: Two days' worth of freebies, fun and more. Why not pop down and discover all the student societies and services available, meet new people and maybe even win some prizes along the way.

 

• Vintage Sales: Find your next favourite outfit while picking up some unique pieces at our vintage clothing sales. Plus, keep an eye out for more sales throughout the year.

 

• Poster & Plant Sales: Make your new room feel like home with some affordable posters and plants to add your own personal touch.

 

• Quizzes & Giant Games: Get involved in some friendly competition with a range of quizzes, bingo and social events designed to help you meet new people.

 

• Drag Brunches: Enjoy a fun-filled brunch experience with plenty of entertainment, laughs and good vibes.

 

• Pre-Drinks: Start your night with your new friends at our pre-drinks events before heading out into Manchester.

 

• Creative Workshops: Try something new, get creative and meet other students through a range of hands-on activities.
